Carta enviada al Gobierno canadiense

Canadian Government:

I deeply regret the overreaction from your police to our football representatives, not only football players, but also directives and media.

I had watched some images and heard testimonies from our reporters and football players themselves telling how everything happened and I think it is a pity knowing the way police proceeded and did not know how to control the situation without using violence.

The whole country is shocked to hear the reaction from FIFA and the statements given by the organization of The World Cup trying to link two different facts that are not related, to explain and justify treatment given to our representatives as delinquents or simple animals without any rights.

To a government called democrat, is a shame showing this behavior to the world, because every country trusted you and put their best football team, minor to twenty years old to your care, believing their would be safe and could perform what they know doing best, playing soccer.

You should have noticed they are just kids, and they only wanted to thank their fans for the support, instead you bit them, applied electricity, drop toxic gas, used psychological mistreat and provoked them to fight back, causing a trauma that they would never forget.

Our Chilean Government is going to investigate every fact to make clear this situation. Citizens from this country are very worried about our soccer players’ physical and psychological health.

I hope, for the sake of every participant country in this World Cup, this kind of incidents, never happen again.

Looking forward to your answer and making clear that this feeling is not being felt for only the person who is writing this letter, but for Chile itself.
